Issues We Care About

Traffic Safety

UHA was involved in the process and instrumental in shaping The View Park-Windsor Hills and Ladera Heights Community Traffic Safety Plan. Here is a link to this plan, which all residents should become familiar with and share their thoughts about Public Works Los Angeles County

Local Politics

Our mission is to advocate for the best interests of all residents of the Windsor Hills, View Park, and View Heights communities in unincorporated Los Angeles County. We use our collective resources and influence to achieve the best possible outcomes on all issues affecting our community’s social welfare, economy, and environment.

Westside Area Plan
Overview and UHA Response

We have shared with members and others that the Westside Area Plan Draft PROGRAM ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT and the Draft Westside Area Plan (WSAP) Documents have been available for review and comment on the LA County website. Comment submission ended on August 16th but you can still review.

The WSAPincludes several elements which will have a profound impact on the character of our community.  Within View Park/Windsor Hills and View Heights, the County has proposed seven opportunity sites, five of these sites are proposed to be upzoned and could result in buildings as tall as 65 feet in our community without corresponding parking. It is extremely important that the community’s voices be heard on this matter. UHA has prepared an official response to the PEIR.

WE OPPOSED SB 9

UHA II opposed SB 9 because it will destroy historic single-family communities such as View Park, Windsor Hills, Leimert Park, Ladera Heights, the Crenshaw District, and Baldwin Hills by overriding local zoning law to allow speculators to build as many as 6 multifamily units on one single-family zoned parcel without any community input or oversight.

The View Condo
Project

UHA II members voted overwhelmingly in 2016 to oppose “The View” condo project, a dangerous and illegal 88-unit development proposed to be built on the vacant lot at 5101 Overhill Drive. Several hundred local residents attended a series of public hearings starting in August 2017 and culminating on March 6, 2018, to offer fact-based testimony on the many reasons why “The View” should not be approved.
